Our Story

Who We Are

Mobile Minds OT provides specialized occupational therapy support to adults and youth living with hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (hEDS) and Hypermobility Spectrum Disorder (HSD). Many individuals with these conditions struggle with daily activities due to chronic pain, fatigue, and joint instability. Our unique approach combines evidence-based therapeutic techniques with personalized care plans, delivered through a hybrid approach ensuring services are accessible to clients with varying levels of mobility. We aim to improve functional independence and quality of life for a significantly underserved population.

About Us

Mobile Minds OT is owned and operated by Kelly Jonasson, who is a registered Occupational Therapist in Manitoba and whom has been diagnosed with hEDS herself.

Kelly obtained her Bachelors degree from the University of Winnipeg in Kinesiology. During her time at the University of Winnipeg, Kelly developed a strong interest in Biomechanics. This knowledge and passion became helpful when Kelly injured herself and began the long journey, which led to her diagnosis of hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (hEDS). This diagnosis was ultimately what led Kelly to pursue further education and a career as an Occupational Therapist. Kelly graduated with her Master of Occupational Therapy from the University of Manitoba in 2023.

Since then, Kelly has worked with various populations including youth with neurodevelopmental disabilities such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Kelly is also passionate about accessibility for all and hopes to bring greater awareness to the challenges people with hEDS face through her work at Mobile Minds OT.

When not working, Kelly focuses on self care to manage her own hEDS symptoms, which includes spending a lot of time with her cat, as well as cheering on the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.
